INTRODUCTION

Please note: Officially, any BPA Tandem Modification that is cleared for use at any particular STC or Riggers meeting, must be formally ratified at the following STC/Riggers Meeting. These meetings are normally eight weeks apart and 'officially', any such Tandem Modification item will not be formally cleared until that ratification. Where-ever possible however, I am going to include these items 'awaiting ratification' in RED, as they are reported in each set of minutes.

The following pages contain a list of the BPA Approved Tandem modifications up till the above shown date. The list will be updated as necessary, and I will keep the BPA informed on latest editions etc. The modifications are as comprehensive as I can find but if anybody has any new info etc, I can be contacted via the following means:

Please Note: No reference is made to any formal Safety Notice, Safety Information or Update that has been issued by an individual manufacturer, unless they require the Riggers/STC to intervene. This is because a manufacturer’s update etc is not part of this BPA modification programme. Safety Notices and Safety Information sheets may be issued by the BPA, but these have their own recommendations/instructions etc.

I have used the Tandem container as the base method of linking the Approved Modifications. Therefore, if you wish to find what canopies/modifications etc are cleared to go in a Tandem Vector, then you go to Part 3 - Tandem Vector.

Where possible I have marked the Tandem container that the particular mod applies to in block letters.

For ease of use, I have broken it down into three main areas.

Part 1: Tandem - In Brief

An 'In Brief' list of all of the actual Tandem modifications (in date order) as cleared by the Riggers.

Part 2: Tandem - General

A list of points pertaining to all makes of Tandem generally as discussed etc by the Riggers and/or STC. The points in this part are not normally covered in Part 3

Part 3: Tandem - 'Type'

Individual Tandem containers by name. Each Tandem container section is broken into two parts, an 'In Brief' page and an 'In Detail' page. (NEW - A 'Canopies Only' button has been added for where a clearance is given but there is no formal link to any particular tandem container)

This part covers all information about the particular Tandem type that has appeared in the BPA Rigger or STC minutes since about 1993. The items are as quoted in the minutes, and sometimes where necessary, there are references to other containers or sections, so as to maintain a fuller understanding of the actual clearance.
